Gerken Environmental was retained by the School District of Topeka, Kansas, USD 501 for the purpose of completing asbestos abatement services, pcb light ballast and flourescent light tube disposal throughout nine (9) buildings formerly known as the Kansas State Hospital Complex.

 

Scope of Work included the removal and disposal of:

 

  • Asbestos-Containing Pipe Insulation - 12,345 Linear Feet
  • Asbestos-Containing Tank Insulation - 1,800 Square Feet
  • Asbestos-Containing Floor Tile and Floor Tile Mastic - 117,400 Square Feet
  • Asbestos-Containing Ceiling Tile - 7,350 Square Feet
  • Asbestos-Containing Sheetrock Texture - 1,235 Square Feet
  • Asbestos-Containing Spray-Applied Ceiling Texture - 9,300 Square Feet
  • Asbestos-Containing Duct Insulation - 800 Square Feet
  • Asbestos-Contaminated Soil - 18,200 Square Feet
  • PCB-Contaminated Ballast - 1,680 Each
  • Mercury-Contaminated Light Bulbs - 1,800 Each

 

Gerken Environmental completed this project within the required time allotted by the contract documents, including additional abatement activities added by the Owner.
